i’m jealous of gathie falk
Around eight years ago I walked into a room at the National Gallery in Ottawa and saw this papier-mâché dress (displayed with other similar pieces) and was instantly inspired jealous. Canadian art icon Gathie Falk is now 81 and she’s still making art… if that’s not inspiring, I don’t know what is.
It’s great to see someone else loving Gathie Falk’s work. I first saw a show of her pieces at the Vancouver Art Gallery when I was a BFA student at UVIC a million years ago. I’d forgotten about her until I saw this on your site. Thanks!
I love her work. These dresses had a huge impact on me, even though it was years ago. I’ve loved her ever since, and I’m happy to have jogged your memory ; )
