Yes, all of this came from one person… one insanely creative, talented person. Her name is Hella Jongerius, and she is the artist/designer behind Jongeriuslab, based in Berlin. Her list of materials goes on forever, as does her portfolio… as does this post! I didn’t want to leave out any of my favorites… like a tea cozy with a porcelain head, for example! How could I not show that?!

Folding pillows yesterday, and porcelain wallpaper today! Clearly I’m ready to do a little redecorating… and I’d like to start with this installation by Brooklyn based artist Beth Katleman. This “wallpaper” is a series of sculptural, white porcelain objects covering a deep turquoise wall. It is titled Folly… and I really, really want it in my house. The end.

I would probably spend a lot more time in my laundry room if I had a basket like this! It’s ceramic. All of these lovely objects are ceramic, and all of them are part of the current show at LA’s ACME Gallery. American artist Matthias Merkel Hess has titled this show, Bucketry, and it is full of amazing ceramic pieces inspired by every day containers. Ok, sure, it would much harder to carry a ceramic laundry basket around the house, but I think it’s worth a try… DON’T DROP IT THOUGH!!!

I love these gorgeous, organic, graphic ceramic sculptures by German {Australian based} artist Vera Möller. Wouldn’t it be amazing, and quite frankly kinda magical, to find a few of these little things “growing” on the forest floor while out for a morning stroll…

Yes. Yes it would.

Whoa. I want an entire table top covered in these gorgeous little ceramic pieces by Cuban, now LA based, artist Elsa Mora. She is best known for her paper-cutting work {which is amazing}, but I absolutely fell in love with these strange, delicate bits and pieces of porcelain. They feel very medical to me… in a totally organic, nature-inspired, biology class kind of way!

Wouldn’t you love to open your cupboards to find these? They look like a bunch of beautifully bizarre dreams that came to life on an unsuspecting collection of ceramics. Yes, it’s safe to say that I want to fill my kitchen with the work of Portland based artist Michelle Summers… and then have all of you over for a soup/tea party.

Oh my word. I love every single one of these ceramic faces… who knew that beady eyes, big foreheads, and thin lips could be so beautiful? Well, British artist Claire Loder, that’s who!

Blow me. Oh sorry, I’m not being rude, that’s actually the title of this fabulous series by Edinburgh based ceramics artist Rebecca Wilson. Here, in Rebecca’s words, are what this lovely work is all about:

A collection of slipcast and stained porcelain figurative ‘bottles’ is complimented by a number that are cast in solid glass in cool, calm colours to highlight the redundancy of their primary function. These objects have become marginalised from their intended purpose as decanters of sickly scents, and now stand redundant in function, but rich in purpose as covetable ‘collectibles’. The non-functional glass and porcelain pieces are finished off with delicately knitted atomiser bulbs salvaged from vintage perfume bottles. The patina comes from of years of being squeezed by greasy fingers and the disfigured and perished rubber interiors further allude to the now redundant function.

Beautiful, geometric sculptures that I want to hang on my wall… or on my shirt. These little pieces of art are brooches made from bits of colorful polymer clay by an Athens based artist/Agricultural Biotechnology student named Eva. Yes. I said Agricultural Biotechnology student.  Apparently, when she doesn’t feel like studying, she’s busy filling her Etsy shop, nomilk today, with all sorts of wearable art to make me jealous … make sure you check out the earrings, necklaces, and rings too! Love.
