Stunning, detailed, beautifully-executed beadwork over portraits, photographed by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alfred_Cheney_Johnston\" target=\"_blank\">Alfred Cheney Johnston<\/a>, of actresses from the 20\u2032s and 30\u2032s. Latvian bead-artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/binkaminka\" target=\"_blank\">Binka Rigava<\/a> was recently commissioned to create these pieces for the newly remodeled restaurant &amp; bar at at <a title=\"Hotel Monteleone \" href=\"http:\/\/hotelmonteleone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hotel Monteleone<\/a>, in New Orleans&#8217; historic French quarter.\u00a0I got an email yesterday from a restaurant\/hotel designer named <a href=\"http:\/\/amoristofficiel.com\/2013\/01\/carousebar-beadart\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ashley Wilkins<\/a>, who in partnership <a href=\"http:\/\/amoristofficiel.com\/2012\/12\/instagram-adventures\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lindsay Broad<\/a>, <em>{both of whom work at <a title=\"Puccini Group\" href=\"http:\/\/puccinigroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Puccini Group<\/a> in San Francisco}<\/em> were the amazing team on this project. They wanted to &#8220;commission art that would speak to the mystery and golden age of the hotel&#8221;&#8230; luckily, they found Binka&#8217;s work on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\" target=\"_blank\">Etsy<\/a>, and the rest is history!<\/p>\n<p><em>{Speaking of history:\u00a0<a title=\"Hotel Monteleone \" href=\"http:\/\/hotelmonteleone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hotel Monteleone<\/a> is a Literary and Historic landmark. The hotel has been open since before the 1930\u2032s and has been written about in novels from authors like\u00a0Hemingway,\u00a0 Tennessee Williams, Truman Capote, and many more. The carousel in the bar is existing and has been there for over 70 years.
