Dear 2014,<\/em><\/p>\n

If I could make out with\u00a0you, I totally would. You were really, really good. In fact, you were very close to the most exciting year of my\u00a0entire\u00a0life,\u00a0second only to the year that my son was born.<\/em><\/p>\n

You were filled with art that was awe-inspiring<\/a>, delicate<\/a>, intriguing<\/a>, fun<\/a>,\u00a0beautifully\u00a0bizarre<\/a>, joyous<\/a>, and oh, so meticulous<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

You were there when my first book hit shelves in February, and when my second book was released in September {and you just saw me sign the deal\u00a0to write my third book!? Gah!}<\/em><\/p>\n

You took me to all sorts of amazing\u00a0places like\u00a0San Francisco, LA, Seattle, Portland<\/a>, Vancouver<\/a>, Victoria<\/a>, Toronto<\/a>, Vancouver again<\/a>, Dublin… and New York for the very first time in my life! {What? Yep, true story.}\u00a0\u00a0There were camping trips, road trips, and small town adventures with my amazing husband<\/a> and ridiculously sweet son. I met so many new friends, and spent time with dear old friends – all of\u00a0whom I plan on seeing again\u00a0as soon as I possibly can!<\/em><\/p>\n

You gave me the chance to : guest write “Real Art for a Fictitious World”<\/a> on sfgirlbybay;<\/a>\u00a0to open my own online gallery;<\/a>\u00a0to speak\u00a0at PIXAR;<\/a>\u00a0to be interviewed by\u00a0the lovely folks\u00a0at oprah.com<\/a> {yep, that was insane}, and to curate the biggest art exhibition of my career<\/a> so far!<\/em><\/p>\n

I tried realllllly\u00a0hard to slow down and enjoy every milestone along the way, although\u00a0I’m not sure if I did a very good job\u00a0–\u00a0it seems like a bit of a blur to be honest – a wonderful, exciting, pinch-me because I feel beyond blessed, kind of a blur.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

So, with that I\u2019ll say thanks for everything, 2014. You were truly mind-blowing.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
