Today I&#8217;m talking to New York based artist\/illustrator\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.andreadaquino.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Andrea D&#8217;Aquino<\/a>. She is just as lovely as her work, and almost as carefree. She\u00a0talked about being disciplined in the studio <em>{ie., getting in there and doing the work}<\/em>, but she also talked a lot about happy accidents and chance. Clearly she was drawn to the mustache in the starting image I gave all 30 of the artists&#8230; or the death of it:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chroniclebooks.com\/titles\/collage.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25005\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/andreadaquino2.jpg\" alt=\"andreadaquino2\" width=\"584\" height=\"742\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/andreadaquino2.jpg 584w, https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/andreadaquino2-236x300.jpg 236w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So fun,\u00a0as is all of her work! Fun and quirky and odd and wonderful&#8230; perfectly imperfect you might say. Here are a few of my favorites\u00a0&#8230; oh,\u00a0and when she said she&#8217;s been drawn to color since she was little, well, I was not surprised. I really do want to go for a walk around New York with her and see what we find on the street to add to a collage!<\/p>\n<p>You might\u00a0remember this from a few months ago. I wrote about this beautiful book, a gorgeous version of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.quartoknows.com\/books\/9781631590757\/Classics-Reimagined-Alice-s-Adventures-in-Wonderland.html\" target=\"_blank\">Alice in Wonderland<\/a>\u00a0that was illustrated by Andrea, and published by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quartoknows.com\/books\/9781631590757\/Classics-Reimagined-Alice-s-Adventures-in-Wonderland.html\" target=\"_blank\">Quarto<\/a>. It&#8217;s absolutely wonderful, and I love that she\u00a0was able to put her stamp, or style you might say, on a classic <em>{tough task, but Andrea\u00a0nailed it}<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.quartoknows.com\/books\/9781631590757\/Classics-Reimagined-Alice-s-Adventures-in-Wonderland.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25007\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/andreadaquino4.jpg\" alt=\"andreadaquino4\" width=\"584\" height=\"8111\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Sigh.<\/em> The end. Well, almost&#8230; Andrea sent me a few photos of her studio!
