These are 7 of 34 pieces in <a href=\"https:\/\/nahcotta.com\" target=\"_blank\">Nahcotta<\/a>&#8216;s latest exhibition, <a href=\"https:\/\/nahcotta.com\/collections\/what-goes-around\">&#8220;What Goes Around&#8221;<\/a>. \u00a0Yes, 34 artists &#8211;\u00a0many of whom I&#8217;m slightly obsessed with\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0have created 12&#8243; circular pieces of art. From Jeremy Miranda, to Jennifer Davis, to Leah Giberson <em>{who hinted about this piece during our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/22\/hello-me\/\" target=\"_blank\">podcast interview<\/a> a few weeks ago}\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; the roster is just fantastic!<em>\u00a0<\/em>This was the inspiration for the show:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Choosing a particular selection of 34 artists, predominantly from the gallery\u2019s significant stable, Nahcotta challenged them with the task of creating work on a twelve-inch circular panel. Since Greek antiquity and making resurgence throughout the Renaissance, circular works of art, called \u201ctondi\u201d (\u201ctondo\u201d when singular) have been made in architecture, sculpture, and paint. Botticelli and Michelangelo, for example, both painted and sculpted more than a few scenes utilizing this form. Deriving from the Italian word \u201crotondo,\u201d meaning \u201cround,\u201d the shape very much informs the context and narrative of the art itself, so \u201cWhat Goes Around\u201d promises an incredible range of work launching from the same dimensional foundation.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s a gorgeous show, so if you can make it to the artist reception\/opening &#8211; which is <strong>TOMORROW from 5-8pm<\/strong> &#8211; well, you should! It will be up\u00a0from April 1 until May 1, 110 Congress Street, Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
