It\u2019s also about jellyfish alien creatures. Yes, Rhode Island based collage artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jennybrownart.com\/\">Jenny Brown<\/a> in my guest today. She wrote a really heartfelt story on\u00a0Facebook the other day, and I just had to get the inside scoop. \u00a0You can listen under that flowering jellyfish,\u00a0or you can\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/podcast\/jealous-curator-art-for-your\/id996338562\" target=\"_blank\">subscribe on iTunes<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s begin with a few of her recent pieces that I&#8217;m currently obsessing over:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/17\/starting-from-square-one-again\/jennybrown2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28177\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28177\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/jennybrown2.jpg\" alt=\"jennybrown2\" width=\"584\" height=\"3038\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/jennybrown2.jpg 584w, https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/jennybrown2-197x1024.jpg 197w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I would happily swim with these elegant\u00a0creatures. Look at those thin beautiful lines, those perfectly cut bits &#8216;n pieces. LOVE.<\/p>\n<p>And now, stepping back in time. A dark time. These were the large, very black, incredibly dense <em>(and sad)<\/em> pieces that Jenny transitioned to during her MFA:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/17\/starting-from-square-one-again\/jennybrown3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28178\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28178\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/jennybrown3.jpg\" alt=\"jennybrown3\" width=\"584\" height=\"1905\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/jennybrown3.jpg 584w, https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/jennybrown3-92x300.jpg 92w, https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/jennybrown3-314x1024.jpg 314w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So different than her now very effervescent work. But, she pushed through and found the light again. Much. <strong>Color!<\/strong> I&#8217;m totally going to give pink card stock a shot. Beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Ok, so I found these WIP\u00a0shots on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jennybrownart\/\">Jenny&#8217;s gorgeous Instagram feed<\/a>. Seriously, I need my scissors RIGHT NOW. Look at that cut-image covered table! Call me a collage nerd if you must, but my heart is racing.<\/p>\n<p>What else makes my heart race? Sugar! The only thing I regret about this episode was not asking Jenny about her deep passion for donuts.
