Years ago, as in within the first <em>month<\/em> of launching &#8220;The Jealous Curator&#8221; I wrote about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seeyouthroughit.com\/\">Mando Marie<\/a> <em>(aka Amanda Marie in 2009). <\/em>To say I was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/?s=amanda+marie&amp;x=11&amp;y=6\">obsessed with her work back then<\/a> would be a\u00a0massive understatement. Over the years I tried finding her again but her site was gone\u00a0and I wasn&#8217;t sure if she&#8217;d stopped making art&#8230; thankfully that is not the case! I just discovered that she has a new solo show, titled\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.andenkengallery.com\/can_it_be\/mando_marie_can_it_be_print.pdf\"><em>&#8220;Can It Be?&#8221;<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that is currently showing\u00a0at The Marcy Project,\u00a0275 South 2nd Street Brooklyn <em>(co-curated by\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">Darren Johnston of Marcy, and\u00a0<\/span>Hyland Mather of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.andenken.com\/\">Andeken Gallery,<\/a>\u00a0Amsterdam)<\/em>. If you&#8217;re in New York, please go&#8230; these large scale mixed media pieces <em>(acrylic, aerosol, and sewing pattern on canvas)<\/em> still take my breath away, 8 years later.<\/p>\n<p><em>ps.
