Ok, it&#8217;s week 4 so you know the drill&#8230; before we get started I want to show you some of the unconventional artwork\u00a0that came out of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/02\/summer-camp-3-unconventional-and-absurd\/\">last week\u2019s &#8220;unconventional materials&#8221; art project\u00a0<\/a><em>(hashtagged\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/afyecamp\/\">#AFYEcamp<\/a><\/strong>)<\/em><strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0When I was at the grocery store I popped down the paper goods aisle and grabbed some envelopes. The post-its were a last minute fix, found on my desk at home, when I needed a turquoise ocean for Daryl to enjoy:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/16\/summer-camp-4-captured-through-collage\/camp4_2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28899\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28899\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/camp4_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"877\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/camp4_2.jpg 584w, https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/camp4_2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;he&#8217;d paid extra for &#8216;the gold sands ocean view&#8217;, so yes, daryl was going to get his GD money&#8217;s worth.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p>And once again, zillions of you took this challenge and <em>RAN<\/em> with it! Ok, let&#8217;s see what you&#8217;ll do with this week&#8217;s project:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Art Project No.4\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Captured through Collage &#8220;<\/em> :\u00a0Today\u2019s challenge\u00a0is all about capturing the essence of your favorite place through collage. That might be your\u00a0garden, New York, an imaginary planet, or even Venice! Yep, VENICE! I mentioned this at the end of camp last time&#8230; for two weeks this August <em>{weeks of the 7th and the 14th}<\/em> I\u2019m going to be teaching part of a course through the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.europeanculturalcentre.eu\/index.php?page=34&amp;lang=en\">European Cultural Center\u2019s Academy<\/a> that\u2019s happening during\u00a0the Venice Biennale. Crazy. Here&#8217;s another crazy tidbit&#8230;\u00a0the Academy wants <strong>one of you<\/strong> to be there too so they asked me\u00a0to\u00a0make this week\u2019s challenge a contest\u2026 the prize? A week of tuition at the Academy, for one of the two weeks while I&#8217;m there <em>{which happens to be worth 950 Euros!}.<\/em> Insane, I know. Travel \/ hotel is NOT included but the tuition for a week would be. If you can get yourself to Venice, and you want to enter this contest, please do! <strong>Your collage would be\u00a0Venice themed<\/strong>, obviously. Just hashtag your work with <strong>#AFYEcamp<\/strong> AND <strong>#JealousInVenice<\/strong> so that I\u2019m sure to see it!<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who aren&#8217;t interested, simply\u00a0take this challenge in a different direction using your own personal dream place, wherever that might be. I can&#8217;t wait to see them!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Artist Examples:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here are three artists who\u00a0create worlds with found images, scissors, and glue. Given the Venice theme, I think it&#8217;s best to start with an Italian artist, yes? Yes!
