It&#8217;s also the mantra that has made Montreal based, Kazakhstan born artist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olavolo.com\">Ola Volo<\/a> a full time artist. Now, we&#8217;ve known each other for a while as friends, but honestly I don&#8217;t know all of her behind-the-scenes stories. Thank goodness I have a podcast to take my friendships to new levels! Ola has totally embraced <em>all<\/em> of the cultures she grew up with &#8211; Russian, Polish,\u00a0Kazakh and Canadian &#8211; to create her own visual language&#8230; a language that allows her to tell all sorts of stories!<\/p>\n<p>So, how did she become a mural artist? This was the very first one. The project that made her google<em> &#8220;what is mural&#8221;<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/2018\/10\/12\/theres-no-time-to-be-shy\/olavolo3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-32581\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32581\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/olavolo3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"968\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/olavolo3.jpg 584w, https:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/olavolo3-181x300.jpg 181w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Um, I think she figured it out! This was the wall at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olavolo.com\/murals\/#\/hootsuite\/\">Hootsuite<\/a> in Vancouver that started the crazy mural ball rolling for her. Well, that and Ola&#8217;s fake it till ya make it attitude.<\/p>\n<p><em>Oooh,<\/em> and here&#8217;s the Starbucks in New York that basically got transformed into &#8220;Ola&#8217;s World&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/2018\/10\/12\/theres-no-time-to-be-shy\/olavolo4\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-32582\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32582\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thejealouscurator.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/olavolo4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"2488\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>How cool is that? Unfortunately I don&#8217;t have any photos of that fabulous LV party she went to in Toronto, but we can use our imaginations.<\/p>\n<p>Next up, her solo show that just happened in Vancouver, titled <em>&#8220;King Queen Lovers Fool&#8221;<\/em>.
