These photos were taken a few days ago by the US Marshall&#8217;s Office. They are the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/usmarshals\/sets\/72157626579208135\/with\/5713093152\/\" target=\"_blank\">belongs of Ted Kaczynski<\/a> <em>{aka <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ted_Kaczynski\" target=\"_blank\">The Unabomber<\/a>}<\/em>, which are being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/economy\/government-auctions-unabombers-property\/2011\/05\/13\/AFcz4z2G_story.html?wprss=rss_homepage\" target=\"_blank\">auctioned off<\/a> by the US Government this week. Creepy? Absolutely. <em>But,<\/em> strangely enough, they&#8217;re also really beautiful photographs. I think it&#8217;s probably this dichotomy that makes them so captivating. It may also be that, on first glance, they look like &#8220;collections of common objects&#8221; &#8211; something that a lot of artists are assembling, and photographing these days. However, once you know the context, it&#8217;s difficult to look at these images without feeling somewhat nauseous.<\/p>\n<p><em>{All of the money raised in the auction is going to the victims&#8217;  families.
