Ok, I was already experiencing some serious FOMO about not being at Art Basel Miami this weekend… and then I found about this interactive piece showing at The Temple House. “New Spring”, by Studio SWINE (Super Wide Interdisciplinary New Explorers : a collaboration between Japanese Architect Azusa Murakami and British Artist Alexander Groves). Delicate blossom bubbles, filled with floral-scented mist, fall gently from a white, chandelier-like tree. The bubbles pop on contact… unless of course you’re wearing the special gloves provided. Seriously, watch this video and tell me you’re not knee-deep in FOMO too:

Wow, “new spring by studio SWINE” is intriguing! The organic forms and use of sustainable materials are really impressive. It reminds me of something Granny would have crocheted, but with a super modern twist. I wonder what inspires the studio’s material choices? Are they looking at reducing waste by using recycled plastic from the sea or upcycling ? Looking forward to seeing more from them!
Studio SWINE’s “New Spring” installation is captivating! The ephemeral bubbles, filled with fragrant mist, are like interactive art. It reminds me of the fleeting joys we find in simpler things. Sometimes I feel like drifting through life, popping bubbles of stress just like playing io games, seeking quick moments of fun. The beauty is in the temporary nature of it all, just like the short bursts of excitement in many io games.
